I’m Katherine, maker and owner of KatherineByKatherine.
Thanks for stopping by my About page, which is my absolute favourite page on a website to check out (though it turns out not my favourite page to write!). I would love to give you a little background on me and my beautiful and bold brand!
I started this business completely by accident! I had wanted a fabric bag to be made with a gorgeous cat print (surprise surprise!) but the order never came. I decided to make my own version of a fabric clutch, which my friends and family loved, and the business was born!
The Business..
I am a Brisbane based artesian making business of one, with a focus on designs allowing expression of individuality and practicality. Being based in sunny Queensland, most of my designs feature vibrant colour combinations, fantastic patterns and prints and fabrics that work in a warmer climate. In saying that, I think bright colours and cotton fabrics work everywhere! I design and make all my bags and accessories right here in Brisbane, on my trusty sewing machine. I also run the website and my social media accounts, so know that when you slide into KatherineByKatherine dms, you are chatting to me!
The Name..
What does KatherineByKatherine mean? Every single design I create has been lovingly made by me. When you purchase an item from me, every piece is part of an expression of my creativity. Hence the “Katherine” by Katherine.
UNIQUENESS
One-of-a-kind is rare. K by K gives you that.
FUN
K by K is a brand that is fun and inviting and that people love to look at.
HONESTY
I aim to be open and vulnerable, honest about who I am and what I do within the K by K brand, in my work and in all my customer interactions.
PRACTICALITY
Beautiful is good. Practical and beautiful is better.
Handmade, one-of-a-kind items are rare. K by K customers love getting something of value that was handmade by one person. They love the idea that a single individual has worked on their item from conceptualising the design to choosing the colours and patterns to placing the stitches in the fabrics.
